***Go in PAIRS!!!***
WHAT TO WEAR:
Jeans Jersey top
WHAT TO BRING:
literature/flyer/brochure/invitation
WHO TO ASK FOR:
**ALWAYS be polite.
. Businesses hate solicitors so tread lightly! Ask for the Manager or Owner if none is on site.. Then talk to whoever will give you the time of day.
WHAT TO SAY:
“Hi, we are just in the neighborhood looking to meet the business owners in our area. I’m a (position) for the Indianapolis Enforcers -the local Professional indoor football team in the AAL. We are out today just introducing ourselves and hoping to invite you to our upcoming Team Meet & Greet, which will be open to the public. This is an opportunity for you and your family, as well as your employees, to come out and meet our team, take pictures with the players, etc. We will have some prizes, games for the kids and more. We are working hard to make this a fun “socially-distanced”-friendly event.”
**KEEP IT SHORT & SWEET!
You are in their workspace and don’t want to be a nuisance or inconvenience. **Give them the flyer/invitation to that person… **ASK if it would be okay to hang up a flyer in the business or leave a stack of flyers at the business. Many will say NO and that’s ok. **Ask if you can take a picture with the business owner and if it’s ok to tag them on the Enforcer’s social media giving the business a shoutout… (this gives the team the opportunity to give the business a little taste of exposure.. “Hey! Look who we dropped in on today! Hoping to see you all at our upcoming meet & greet on (date) at (location). Don’t forget to stop by (business name/tag) to pick up some (product.. Tasty donuts… whatever whatever) # # #” BEFORE YOU LEAVE: **GET A BUSINESS CARD OR CONTACT INFORMATION FOR SOMEONE AT THE BUSINESS!!!!!***** (This is critical for following up after the visit and to remind them of their invite to the meet & greet) AFTER: **Send the selfies to whoever handles the enforcers social media page… highly recommend the player post that pic from their OWN social media post and tag the business as well as the Enforcer’s team pages on social media. Also… tagging the business on social media almost always guarantees they will FOLLOW BACK.
